Five Minute Wavy Hair Tutorial

So I was getting ready the other day and decided to snap a few photos during the process of doing my hair so you could see a fun easy way to make your hair wavy! If your hair isn't already damp, you can always spray it down a little bit with water or even with the Redken Wax Blast spray I posted below! Enjoy!

1. When your hair is about 80% dry, braid it into two French Dutch braids as shown (regular French braids should work just fine too!).

2. Blow dry your braids to get out the remainder of the dampness and set the waves.

3. Spray with Redken Wax Blast (This is one of my favorite product for texture but you can use whatever you have on hand), undo braids and spray again.

And VOILA! Sexy bed head beach waves!

P.S. Did anyone else wake up to see the lunar eclipse last night?? My hubby had to be up for work at 4am so I told him if it was still eclipsing to wake me up so I could see. It was seriously so cool. Wish I had been awake enough to grab the real camera to snap a photo!  :P

Thrifted Kimono

Buenos dias, Bellas! It's a new week! How was everyone's weekend? I hope you all did something fun and got to spend time with the ones you love! My hubby and I both worked Saturday so Sunday we had a fun day and got to hang out and do things like go to Target (Who doesn't love a Target date?!). We also got inspired to change a few things around in our house, and it's amazing what a little rearranging can do for you! Our bedroom literally feels like a new room. We still have some work to do hanging stuff and getting some accent pieces but I'll post photos once it's all done! Oh, and if you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I tried to make macaroons. Epic. Fail. I might try one more time but otherwise I will just buy them or make my bff make them for me. She's good at it.
Sooo this kimono. Amazing right? I found it at the thrift store, and I love. I don't tend to find really awesome pieces at the thrift store that often so I was super excited! I paired it with some white denim and boots for a boho feel. Can't wait to style it for the fall too!
I'm off to do a workout at CrossFit, the final one before our gym's competition this weekend! Eeek! I'm excited. Have any of you ever tried CrossFit? If so, what did you think? I loveee it. I've been doing it for over two years now and can't get enough of it! Happy Tuesday!

xoxoxo,
Christine

Half-Up Mohawk Tutorial

Good morning ladies! I did this hairstyle last week and had a ton of response to it and a few requests for a tutorial so here it is! It's really much easier than it looks! I hope it all makes sense, and please let me know if you have any questions!
I had a great birthday weekend! My hubby and I went to a concert at House of Blues where my high school friend performed! Her name is Ashlee Morton, and you should DEFINITELY check her out. Her voice is incredible and her songs are so full of emotion. My fave. Then on my actual birthday I went running while my hubby made breakfast, and then I had waffles and ice cream for breakfast! My brother and his wife do it for birthdays, and I was with them one time when they did, and I decided I wanted it to be our birthday tradition too because it's so delish. I mean hello, ice cream for breakfast? Yes please! We went kayaking in Newport Harbor after breakfast and then to my grandma's for swimming and dessert with our families! I haven't played in a pool or did flips off the diving board like I did that day in years. It was so fun! Oh and then last night I got to go to sushi with one of my best friends, and we ate so much and chatted about life, and I had a firework type thing in my birthday dessert so it was pretty awesome! Anyways, thanks for reading! I'm off to lunch with some friends to chat about an upcoming fashion/pop-up shop event so stay tuned for details on that!

Structured Skirt

Happy Thursday! I literally cannot say enough good things about this skirt from Pretty Pants Boutique! I had been wanting one of these skirts for a long time and had actually tried on a few but with how they were structured and meant to fit, they wouldn't sit high enough on my waist! I can't tell you how excited I was when I got this in the mail, and it fit perfectly! Besides that, I love that the material is different than most of the ones that are out there right now. If you look closely, it's sort of a mesh-looking material but still super good quality! I highly recommend it! I paired it with this bodysuit I found at TJ Maxx. I know some of you can't imagine the thought of wearing a bodysuit again and bringing back the childhood traumas of trying to use the bathroom with one on, but seriously do it! They are perfect for high-waisted clothing items because they create clean lines without you having to worry about tucking your shirt in constantly!
Ben and I went to the OC Fair last night! We ate a corn dog and deep-fried avocados. Bomb dot com. And we watched a crazy acrobatics show and walked around the art and photography exhibits. There are some crazy talented people out there! Make sure you go if you live in the area!

OH and thank you to my lovely friend, Dayena, for these awesome photos and for giving my hubby a break. ;)

xoxoxo,
Christine

Insta Lately

Hey everyone! I thought I'd share a few of my photos that have been on Instagram with a little more details on them! If you aren't already, (#gettoit) follow me on Instagram @mox_ie for a further peek into my everyday life! How was everyone's weekend? I was a little bored this weekend to be honest! My hubby had his monthly training, and somehow every single one of my friends had plans already. One friend did come over late Saturday, and we had some girly chat on the couch. (Friends was on in the background and neither of us was paying attention because we've seen every episode ten times but we literally both stopped talking without even shooshing each other to watch the Chandler/Monica proposal: best EVER.) Anyways, I hope you all have the best week!

xoxoxo,
Christine

Sweet Potato Nachos!
Just slice the potatoes thinly, lather with olive oil and salt, bake, and then top with your favorite nacho ingredients! I put chicken, grilled onion and bell pepper, tomato, avocado, Tapatio, and a dollop of plain Greek yogurt.

Lace Tunic and a Turban

Ladies! I figured out how to wear your workout gear in public and look acceptable! :P I've had this tunic for quite some time and have only ever worn it as a swim cover-up! Then the other day, I had a bright idea to try something new under it that I could wear out (funny, in the links I put below are similar styles, but I hadn't even seen that!). I am wearing spandex workout shorts and a bralette type top under it. I also was wanting a turban but realized that all I had to do is take one of my scarves I had and fold it right. You can watch the tutorial I used here. Seriously loving this fun style! Hope you all try at least part of it out!

How's everyone's week been? Mine has been great! Just been working and working out and hanging out with friends and my hubby! He will be gone this weekend for his monthly Marine training so I'll have to figure out what I'm gonna do! If you live in the area, I have a friend setting up her pop-up fashion shop at my salon, The Hair Lounge, in Yorba Linda tomorrow. Come check it out!

Double Fishtail Tutorial

Hey ladies! This week has been slow for me at work so that means I spent the day at the beach today (yes, please!) and had time to film a new hair tutorial for you all. I absolutely love this braid! Hope you do too! Let me know if you have questions!

Lace Love

Hey everyone! If you didn't see already from Instagram, Ben and I went beach camping over the weekend! It was so fun! I didn't end up pulling off it being a surprise (I was SOOOOOO sad) because I left something open on the computer accidentally when I was leaving for work last Thursday. Boo. But we still had the best time. We hadn't ever been camping together! And camping is already so much fun, but let me tell you, camping with a hubby is like a million times better. We just went to the beach and sat around the fire and snuggled and ate the best fish tacos and went for a walk and read and threw the football. Oh, and it was Ben's 24th birthday too so we obviously celebrated that! The best weekend.
Now onto my outfit! This lace kimono is probably one of my favorite recent purchases. You can put it on with shorts, pants, a dress, or a romper, and it instantly adds to your look. I always love finding the cute, simple dresses at Forever that you can add whatever you want to. This one in particular happened to be the perfect cut, and I just love it! I'm obviously obsessed with this necklace as well!
Hope you all have the best day! Today is our one year engagement anniversary, and we're going back to dinner at the place we went after we got engaged! (Yes, we are AT LEAST going to celebrate that this year :P)
