For this shoot I had the privilege of working with Montana Blues, a brand new online boutique! This amazing top is from them, and it's so cool because it's a one size fits all top that has TWO ways of wearing it! I will be doing a second post tomorrow showing you the other way that this top can be worn! I'm also obsessed with the color of this top! I wore it the other night out on our date night and realized I don't have anything in this color, and it might be one of my new favorite colors. To celebrate their grand opening, Montana Blues is giving all of my readers 15% off of your purchase with the code MOXIE15. Make sure you take advantage of this deal and don't forget to follow Montana Blues on Instagram as well!

Sooo I am SO VERY EXCITED because tomorrow morning we leave to Utah to see my brother and his family. I have a brand new niece I haven't met yet and two other nieces who I just can't wait to see. I'm in dire need of a vacay. The last few days at work have been so busy. I had a color correction which if you're a hairstylist you know that those two words together mean hours and hours with the same client trying to achieve in one visit what should take months to accomplish. Super stressful. Plus at one point last week, I came home and had THIRTEEN people to text back about hair appointments! Yikes! I literally cannot wait to get away with my hubby and spend time with family. I'm pretty sure we haven't been on more than a weekend getaway since our honeymoon last year. Can't. Wait.

Hope you all have the best day!

Good morning, and happy Thursday! I'm sitting in bed with coffee so I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a good day. In the words of teenagers nationwide, I will say about this outfit, "I literally can't even..." :P. I was wanting a trench coat for a while but was still unsure of them until I ended up snagging this one at a sale at H and M. I'm. In. Love. I told my hubby when I was getting ready that I felt like a character Mad Men, and he looked at me like I was a weirdo and said, "You mean like the guys in Mad Men?" (BTW we don't even watch that show; I'm just guessing :P). Yes, duh the guys. Whatever. Anyways, I love this whole combination, and it's perfect for us here in Southern California who have quite a bit longer to wait for cooler temperatures. I will say though, I can't wait to pair it with some distressed denim! Oh, is anyone else loving burgundy for the coming fall season! I know I am!

Sooooo I'm super duper duper duper excited because in a week my hubby and I are going to Salt Lake to see my brother, sister-in-law and their three little girls. I have a four-month-old baby niece that I haven't met yet either! I can't wait! The girls will be so much fun, and we always eat the best food and hang out and my brother and his wife show us all around their favorite places. I'm also hoping to bump into Cara Loren, duh. And why couldn't Amber wait a week to move? Um hellllloooo. :P Those are my two favorite bloggers and the original inspiration behind my starting mine!

Polka Dots and Peplum

Hello friends! Back after the weekend. My weekend was very eventful! Ben was gone for five days so I really worked on making lots of plans this time because sometimes I get bored and lonely if I don't. The biggest thing I did this weekend was a CrossFit competition at our gym! It was my first time ever competing in anything besides running, and it was the best experience!  I get very competitive if you were wondering. :P I had so much fun and was inspired and ended up tying for third with two other girls. And then Saturday night when I was lying around because it's all I wanted to do, I got a call from Ben saying he was coming home early! If you are at all familiar with the Marines, that literally NEVER happens. I was the happiest girl ever.
While Ben was gone, my little sister spent the night, and we went thrifting, and I got this skirt for TWO DOLLARS. I couldn't believe it! I paired it with this polka dot button up and my red espadrille wedges from Target. Also, my hairdo is so simple to do! I literally put the headband on with my hair down and just tucked all the hair into the headband! So easy and so cute! I hope you all have the best day! Be on the lookout for an announcement about a fun event coming soon!

Healthy Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps

If any of you know me, you know following a recipe is NOT my thing. Except for things like cookies and cakes (or the Paleo mayo below) but even then sometimes I'll improvise if I'm feeling comfortable. Normally, I read a recipe, glean a few ideas from it and come up with something of my own. Or just open my fridge and grab things I think would go together and BOOM, lunch is served. Well that's what happened this day! I knew I wanted chicken salad because I had some Paleo mayo in the fridge (seriously how did I JUST discover this) but I just added things in as I went that I thought sounded good. It was just me at home so I only made one serving but you could always make more! I did my best to come up with measurements for all of ya'll that DO need recipes because who are we kidding I didn't measure a thing! This is a super easy and healthy lunch, and those are two things I'm always asking of my foods! ENJOY!

Ingredients (Single Serving):
1 Cup Cooked Chicken (I used pre-cooked broiler chicken from Sprouts)
Half of an avocado, diced
3-4 Grape Tomatoes Diced
3-4 broccoli flourets finely chopped
1 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1 Tbsp chopped red onion
1 Tbsp roasted, chopped almonds
2 Tbsp Paleo Mayo; recipe here
2 leaves of lettuce

Combine all ingredients together. Spoon onto lettuce. ENJOY!

Flare Denim and Stripes

Can you believe flare denim are making a comeback? I thought I would be living in skinny jeans forever! I can't wait to get some high-waisted flares to pair with a crop top too! I got these ones for a steal at Ross. Seriously I find random stuff there all the time. If you check in to those places regularly, you can usually find some good stuff!
This afternoon I'm heading down to San Diego to see my hubby (he left Tuesday night for training, boo), and I can't wait. We love Yard House (nachos or wings every time) and are having a date night there in San Diego tonight! Yay!
Yesterday, my hubby sent me the verse of the day from the iPhone Bible app, and it really got me thinking.

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." Colossians 3:1-2.

I really want to make this a habit of mine, to put my focus on things that actually matter. It's so easy to get caught up in ourselves and our desires and things but at the end of the day, none of that really matters. What matters isn't tangible. It's the joy and peace and love that flow out of a heart that's fulfilled. So I'm gonna set my heart on the real stuff.

Christine

Thrifted Kimono

Buenos dias, Bellas! It's a new week! How was everyone's weekend? I hope you all did something fun and got to spend time with the ones you love! My hubby and I both worked Saturday so Sunday we had a fun day and got to hang out and do things like go to Target (Who doesn't love a Target date?!). We also got inspired to change a few things around in our house, and it's amazing what a little rearranging can do for you! Our bedroom literally feels like a new room. We still have some work to do hanging stuff and getting some accent pieces but I'll post photos once it's all done! Oh, and if you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I tried to make macaroons. Epic. Fail. I might try one more time but otherwise I will just buy them or make my bff make them for me. She's good at it.
Sooo this kimono. Amazing right? I found it at the thrift store, and I love. I don't tend to find really awesome pieces at the thrift store that often so I was super excited! I paired it with some white denim and boots for a boho feel. Can't wait to style it for the fall too!
I'm off to do a workout at CrossFit, the final one before our gym's competition this weekend! Eeek! I'm excited. Have any of you ever tried CrossFit? If so, what did you think? I loveee it. I've been doing it for over two years now and can't get enough of it! Happy Tuesday!

Christine
