Bodysuits and Boyfriend Jeans

Body Suit: TJ Maxx, similar here Denim: American Eagle Here; Shoes: Love D, similar hereSunnies: Windsor, similar here

Guys. I just got back from walking all around Disneyland and California Adventure all day long (I'm writing this last night). And I'm so beat. Like I couldn't have hung for any longer, maybe even would have left sooner. :P I went with my hubby's whole family (his EIGHT brothers and sisters and his parents). Unfortunately Ben had to work so he didn't get to come. :( But it was still super fun, and I got my happiest place on earth fill. I seriously LOVE Soarin' Over California so much. It makes me happy to live where we do in such a beautiful place! Now I'm ready for this week to be over already. :P My hubby has been working way too many hours, and I MISS him. But I'm mostly ready for the end of the week because Sunday is our ONE YEAR anniversary! And we are headed up to Santa Barbara for a few nights to celebrate. I. Can't. Wait. I have a fun wedding post coming later this week so stay tuned!

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago on a coffee date with my hubby to Portola Coffee Lab at the OC Mix Mart. Boyfriend jeans are my absolute favorite right now. I just can't have enough pairs! These American Eagle ones are way baggier than most I own. Actually if I unrolled them, you might think I stole my little brother's jeans. But I love that about them! Last time I wore them I paired them with a crop, and this time I paired them with a body suit! Normally I actually really love loose tees with boyfriend jeans but because these are extra baggy I like to contrast them with a tighter piece. It also helps to keep a feminine look to the outfit. What is your favorite way to wear boyfriend jeans?

Wearing Crop Tops in the Fall

Crop Top: Asos, similar here; Jeans: American Eagle here (I added extra distressing myself but those are the same jeans! They run big. Mine are a 00); Leather Jacket: Kaitlyn, similar here; Shoes: Love D here

Hi Pretties! Hope you all had a great weekend! I worked in the salon all day Saturday so I'm always so excited for Sunday and Monday because  I usually have them both off! Sunday was my mom's birthday so we went out to lunch and froyo to celebrate. Yesterday, of course, was National Coffee Day, which is probably one of my favorite "national" days second only to National Running Day. So Ben and I decided to go to a fun coffee shop. We went to Portola's at the OC Mix Mart, and we have NO idea how we have never been! There are a ton of cool little shops and restaurants in addition to Portola's. I highly recommend you take yourself there and explore if you haven't yet! Our next stop will probably be The Iron Press for date night!

So this summer was alllll about the crop tops. They have been everywhere. And now that fall is here,we should be switching out our high-waisted shorts for some denim or even a high-waisted maxi! Up until now, I have been a firm believer in only wearing a crop top if your belly button is covered. But as is the case in fashion, things change. And I'm all about trying new things! I was also inspired by crop top queen, Sara Lynn, to try out this new trend just like she did here. The jacket wrapped around my waist or on helps it maintain a classy feel too. I opted for my super baggy American Eagle jeans to contrast with my tighter crop top. When I got these jeans, I didn't feel like they were distressed quite enough so I added some extra distressing. (If you're wondering how to do it, just check out Pinterest for a tutorial!) What's your feeling on the look and the crop top trend as a whole?! I'd love to know what you think!

Montana Blues: Part 1

For this shoot I had the privilege of working with Montana Blues, a brand new online boutique! This amazing top is from them, and it's so cool because it's a one size fits all top that has TWO ways of wearing it! I will be doing a second post tomorrow showing you the other way that this top can be worn! I'm also obsessed with the color of this top! I wore it the other night out on our date night and realized I don't have anything in this color, and it might be one of my new favorite colors. To celebrate their grand opening, Montana Blues is giving all of my readers 15% off of your purchase with the code MOXIE15. Make sure you take advantage of this deal and don't forget to follow Montana Blues on Instagram as well!

Sooo I am SO VERY EXCITED because tomorrow morning we leave to Utah to see my brother and his family. I have a brand new niece I haven't met yet and two other nieces who I just can't wait to see. I'm in dire need of a vacay. The last few days at work have been so busy. I had a color correction which if you're a hairstylist you know that those two words together mean hours and hours with the same client trying to achieve in one visit what should take months to accomplish. Super stressful. Plus at one point last week, I came home and had THIRTEEN people to text back about hair appointments! Yikes! I literally cannot wait to get away with my hubby and spend time with family. I'm pretty sure we haven't been on more than a weekend getaway since our honeymoon last year. Can't. Wait.

Hope you all have the best day!

The Basics

Sometimes it's good to just stick with the basics like a tee and shorts! I added a blazer and my favorite necklace to dress it up a bit. I wore this outfit last week on a date night with my hubby to The Ranch Enchilada. It's a new Mexican place that opened up next to my work, and basically I'm always up for anything Mexican. I could eat chips and salsa every day for the rest of my life and be happy. So good chips and salsa is a must! And this place has bomb chips and salsa so they're a winner in my book! Hope you all are having a great week! I have a fun shoot coming this week for Pretty Pants Boutique that I teamed up with my photographer friend plus a bonus shoot coming for MY BIRTHDAY on Sunday! So stay tuned! Thanks for reading!

All Black and A Little on Loving Yourself

Sooo I had something on my heart this past weekend, and I'm not even sure where to start or how to say everything I'm thinking so I hope it all makes sense! I went to a play this weekend on the book "Cold Tangerines:Celebrating the Extraordinary Nature of Ordinary Life" (you can buy it here), and several times it talks about women and their struggles with insecurities and body issues, and it really got me thinking about all that this weekend. I am thankful to say that by the grace of God, while I still have my bad days, I have come to embrace and love the body that God gave me and take pride in my care and presentation of it. And it literally breaks my heart when I hear girls who say they feel fat or ugly or make comments like who would love me. I can't even describe it. It just makes me want to fix it all, and I try to be encouraging, but at the end of the day I know, while my words may help, it's something much deeper. We spend our days comparing ourselves to people in photographs and walking down the street and wishing we had a better ____ (fill in the blank). There's a God who literally MADE you EXACTLY who you are. He looks at you and says, "It is GOOD." And with the way we treat ourselves, we are basically telling him that it's not. Would you ever say that the mountains or the oceans or flowers aren't GOOD? I could literally stare at the ocean forever. It leaves me in awe every time whether it's the beach in Hawaii or Cancun or near my home in Newport. If I can look at the ocean and know that what God made is good, how much more is that true of YOU?! I want every girl everywhere to truly feel deep down in their very soul that they are beautiful. We have to stop looking to people and things to tell us who we are and if we are beautiful. Maybe we've been criticized a lot or haven't had a loving family to help us to believe the truth about ourselves. That sucks. But guess what? God still says you're beautiful. He still calls you good. And if I'm going to believe anyone, it's going to be Him. It's not easy to learn to believe it but I promise that if you just start by praying every time you find yourself start comparing yourself to someone, I promise that it will start to change. Stop saying mean things to yourself and your body, and start loving it. You deserve it.

Sorry for the rant! Just had to share! Now on to the outfit. An all black look can still be done in the summer! Just keep it light with your fabrics. I paired a flowy tank with my distressed black jeans and my birks. I added a red lip and my camel bag for some color! Hope you have the best week!
