California: Home Sweet Home

So today I'm featuring this cutest tank from Royal Bowtique! I've grown up in California my WHOLE life. I've actually only lived two places, my parents and the apartment I'm in now. I love where I live! There's the beach and mountains, and the weather is nearly always perfect. I love that California is the place I call "home". I paired my tank with these cute floral shorts and a kimono. I love a loose graphic tee paired with fun bottoms!

How's everyone's week? Mine has been busy so far! I actually thought yesterday was Thursday. Whoops. I went from not being super busy to everything happening at once! Aka errrrbody wants their hair did. :P Yesterday I met up with Aly of Living In Style OC (@livinginstyleoc; if you live in the area, make sure to follow her! Half-Up Mohawk Tutorial

         


Good morning ladies! I did this hairstyle last week and had a ton of response to it and a few requests for a tutorial so here it is! It's really much easier than it looks! I hope it all makes sense, and please let me know if you have any questions!
I had a great birthday weekend! My hubby and I went to a concert at House of Blues where my high school friend performed! Her name is Ashlee Morton, and you should DEFINITELY check her out. Her voice is incredible and her songs are so full of emotion. My fave. Then on my actual birthday I went running while my hubby made breakfast, and then I had waffles and ice cream for breakfast! My brother and his wife do it for birthdays, and I was with them one time when they did, and I decided I wanted it to be our birthday tradition too because it's so delish. I mean hello, ice cream for breakfast? Yes please! We went kayaking in Newport Harbor after breakfast and then to my grandma's for swimming and dessert with our families! I haven't played in a pool or did flips off the diving board like I did that day in years. It was so fun! Oh and then last night I got to go to sushi with one of my best friends, and we ate so much and chatted about life, and I had a firework type thing in my birthday dessert so it was pretty awesome! Anyways, thanks for reading! I'm off to lunch with some friends to chat about an upcoming fashion/pop-up shop event so stay tuned for details on that!

B I R T H D A Y

I'm 28 today! Eeek! Sounds a little old to me but I "dunno about you, but I'm feeling 22"! I got this amazing fun makes-me-feel like a princess skirt for my birthday from my blogger bff, Alena, over at Modaprints! It's from her sister's Etsy shop Pearl and Lace Boutique! I'm literally in love with it. Seriously feel like a princess in it. I paired it with a basic top because I just wanted to create a classy but a little bit sporty look! The top is actually a sports bra from Forever 21! I love the combo because it's so me! I love to be girl and get dressed up but I'm literally at the gym or running every day, and if you were wondering, the answer is yes, I'm always trying to beat you. :P I had to have sunflowers in my shoot too because they are my absolute favorite. Today, I'm gonna celebrate by going paddle boarding with my hubby and then meeting up with our families for dessert at my mom's! This past year has been the most rewarding year yet. I got to marry my best friend. We have our days, but marriage is literally THE best thing in the entire world. Better than I imagined. And despite what we heard, the first year has been filled mostly with laughter and love. So I am looking forward to this next year of celebrating life and being who God created me to be. Wouldn't want to be anyone else. Thank you all for following along on this journey with me!

Structured Skirt

Happy Thursday! I literally cannot say enough good things about this skirt from Pretty Pants Boutique! I had been wanting one of these skirts for a long time and had actually tried on a few but with how they were structured and meant to fit, they wouldn't sit high enough on my waist! I can't tell you how excited I was when I got this in the mail, and it fit perfectly! Besides that, I love that the material is different than most of the ones that are out there right now. If you look closely, it's sort of a mesh-looking material but still super good quality! I highly recommend it! I paired it with this bodysuit I found at TJ Maxx. I know some of you can't imagine the thought of wearing a bodysuit again and bringing back the childhood traumas of trying to use the bathroom with one on, but seriously do it! They are perfect for high-waisted clothing items because they create clean lines without you having to worry about tucking your shirt in constantly!

Ben and I went to the OC Fair last night! We ate a corn dog and deep-fried avocados. Bomb dot com. And we watched a crazy acrobatics show and walked around the art and photography exhibits. There are some crazy talented people out there! Make sure you go if you live in the area!

The Basics

Sometimes it's good to just stick with the basics like a tee and shorts! I added a blazer and my favorite necklace to dress it up a bit. I wore this outfit last week on a date night with my hubby to The Ranch Enchilada. It's a new Mexican place that opened up next to my work, and basically I'm always up for anything Mexican. I could eat chips and salsa every day for the rest of my life and be happy. So good chips and salsa is a must! And this place has bomb chips and salsa so they're a winner in my book! Insta Lately

Hey everyone! I thought I'd share a few of my photos that have been on Instagram with a little more details on them! If you aren't already, (#gettoit) follow me on Instagram @mox_ie for a further peek into my everyday life! How was everyone's weekend? I was a little bored this weekend to be honest! My hubby had his monthly training, and somehow every single one of my friends had plans already. One friend did come over late Saturday, and we had some girly chat on the couch. (Friends was on in the background and neither of us was paying attention because we've seen every episode ten times but we literally both stopped talking without even shooshing each other to watch the Chandler/Monica proposal: best EVER.) Sweet Potato Nachos!

Just slice the potatoes thinly, lather with olive oil and salt, bake, and then top with your favorite nacho ingredients! I put chicken, grilled onion and bell pepper, tomato, avocado, Tapatio, and a dollop of plain Greek yogurt.
